However we end up at your door, the experience runs the same way. Every BPM visit means licensed HVAC and plumbing professionals, clear communication, honest pricing, and technicians who respect your home and your time. Here’s what to expect, start to finish.
Tell us what's going on, and we'll get you on the schedule at a time that works for your day.
You'll get a confirmation and an "on the way" notification before your technician arrives — so you're never left guessing or waiting around.
Your technician walks you through what they're going to do and what it costs before any work begins — in plain language, with no pressure.
We complete the job, clean up after ourselves, and make sure everything's running right before we leave.
You are probably not here because something catastrophic happened. More likely, something small made you pay attention — a sound you had not heard before, a room that felt colder than the thermostat said it should be, a heating bill that climbed more than the weather seemed to justify. Or maybe you just looked at the installation sticker on the side of the unit and did the math on how old it is.
That kind of low-grade concern is worth taking seriously, and it is worth getting straight answers before winter makes the decision for you. The questions that tend to surface at this stage are the right ones:
None of these situations require a crisis. They require a clear-eyed look at what you have, what it would take to keep it, and what replacing it would actually cost and accomplish. That is the conversation worth having now, while you have time to make a deliberate choice.
Two other companies came out, wanted to sell me the moon, knew something was not right! A friend said to call BPM, you came out simply said not a problem will get it done! Honesty and integrity goes a long way! A+ company!

We had an issue with Blower motor in our HVAC. We contacted 9 HVAC companies and they are all advised to replace the entire system but Mr.Rich from BPM is very kind to ask about the actual problem and provided 3 different options one of them is to replace the actual issue instead of replacing the full system. Also, Mr.Rich informed us that, the current system is in good condition and will work for another couple of years based on his expertise in this field. The technician Mr.Mychall is very professional and he fixed the actual problem in less than an hour. This company helped to save thousands of dollars in HVAC expenses for us.

Certifications & Licensing
Manufacturer dealer status and state licenses aren't decorations — they affect which warranty terms you get on new equipment, who's allowed to pull your permits, and whose installation work the manufacturer will stand behind.

Manufacturer dealer certifications require demonstrated installation quality, verified customer satisfaction ratings, and completed factory training. Premier and Authorized status also unlocks enhanced warranty options on new equipment — terms that aren't available through uncertified installers. The LG Pro Platinum designation is LG's highest contractor tier, covering cold-climate and inverter-driven systems specifically.
Whether you are calling about a repair, thinking through a replacement, or trying to figure out whether your system is even sized right for your house, the approach is the same: BPM looks at what is actually there and tells you what it found.
When a technician comes out, they are not walking in with a recommendation already in mind. They check the system, explain what they are seeing as they go, and give you an honest read on where things stand — whether that is a worn part that is worth replacing, a system that has enough life left to justify the repair, or a furnace that is genuinely near the end and where continued investment stops making financial sense. If a furnace repair is the right call, that is what BPM recommends. When other companies have pushed replacement on systems that still had serviceable life, BPM has come in with a repair option instead. The reverse is also true: when a system genuinely warrants replacement, the technician explains why clearly, with specifics, not pressure.
If you are weighing a new system, BPM works through the real variables with you: efficiency ratings and what they mean for a Frederick heating season, fuel type and whether switching makes sense for your home, equipment options at different price points, and what the furnace installation actually involves. A standard furnace replacement is typically a one-day job. BPM coordinates permits when required and handles the inspection process. Financing is available through Nymeo Federal Credit Union for situations where the upfront cost needs to be spread out.
For homeowners who want to stay ahead of problems rather than react to them, BPM’s Comfort Club maintenance plan includes a fall heating tune-up, a spring cooling visit, and an annual plumber inspection — plus priority scheduling and 20% off repairs. Scheduled furnace maintenance catches the things that become expensive failures when ignored, and it gives you a consistent read on where your system stands each season.
The technician walks you through findings before anything is approved. You know what the problem is, what fixing it involves, and what it costs before work starts. That is how it goes every time.

BEST experience!!! BPM Heating & Cooling was my 4th quote for a new furnace and a/c unit. They explained everything completely, did not give any run around on my questions, provided a reasonable quote and reasonable finance options, if needed. Further, they went above and beyond to make sure the home was comfortable until the install date. All BPM staff were informative and polite at every step. I highly recommend BPM Heating & Cooling!!

My gas furnace finally gave up after a long 32 years, but it happened 3 days before Christmas. BPM came to the rescue and got me a whole new system in less than 48 hours! They even provided space heaters in the meantime. The installers were super knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They came back on new years eve to install the rest of the system. They work fast and efficiently. I got a whole new furnace, AC, humidifier and high quality filter (for my allergies) all the same price I was quoted the furnace and AC alone from the competitors here. They were also very flexible and able to accommodate multiple payment methods. They had excellent customer service and were very punctual. Couldn’t be happier, so thank you for everything!

I was surprised to get same day service and it was fixed the same day. It was also nice that they repaired my unit since it is so old and I don’t want to replace it at this time. Other companies tell me don’t fix it but get a new one, it was great service and Mike the technician was very informative. I was very happy and signed up with the company for maintenance.

The rule of thumb most technicians use is the 50% rule: if a repair costs more than half the value of a new system, replacement is usually the better financial decision. Age matters alongside cost — a furnace that is 15 to 20 years old and needs a major component replaced is close to the end of its useful life regardless, and putting significant money into it means paying twice when the next failure comes. BPM evaluates both the repair cost and the system’s realistic remaining life before making a recommendation, so the answer you get is specific to your situation, not a general push toward new equipment.
Fixable issues tend to be component-level: a failed igniter, a dirty flame sensor, a clogged filter that caused a safety shutdown, a worn blower motor. These have straightforward repairs and do not indicate the system is failing overall. Signs that point toward a system in decline are different — short cycling that has gotten worse over time, uneven heat that has developed gradually, a heat exchanger that is cracked or corroded (a safety concern that typically warrants replacement), or a pattern of recurring failures where something new breaks every season. A single repair is usually just a repair. A pattern of repairs on an aging system is a different conversation.
Gas furnaces remain the most common choice in Frederick — natural gas infrastructure is well established here, and high-efficiency gas systems (90%+ AFUE) are cost-effective to operate through a full Maryland heating season. If you have gas, staying with gas is usually the straightforward path. If you have oil, a conversion is possible — either to gas (if a gas line is accessible) or to an all-electric system using a heat pump or ducted system. Propane is also an option for homes without gas access. BPM handles all of these configurations, including full oil-to-electric conversions, and can walk through what each would mean for your specific home before you commit to anything.
In a Frederick winter, the difference between an 80% AFUE furnace and a 96% AFUE furnace is roughly 16 cents saved for every dollar of gas burned — across a heating season that runs five to six months, that adds up. On a typical Frederick home, the annual savings from a high-efficiency upgrade can run several hundred dollars depending on home size, insulation, and usage patterns. The payback period on the efficiency premium varies, but it is a real number worth calculating against your current bill, especially if you are replacing an older 80% system.
Maintenance is worth it, specifically because furnaces fail at the worst possible time — the first cold night of the season, or during a January cold snap when every HVAC company in the area is backed up. A fall tune-up catches the things that become failures under load: a heat exchanger showing early stress, a blower that is drawing too much current, a gas valve that is not opening cleanly. BPM’s Comfort Club plan includes a fall heating visit, a spring cooling visit, and an annual plumber inspection, plus priority scheduling and 20% off repairs. Members also get a consistent read on where their system stands each year, which makes the repair-versus-replace question much easier to answer when it comes up.
Sizing matters more than most homeowners realize. An oversized furnace short-cycles — it heats quickly, shuts off, and never runs long enough to distribute heat evenly or remove humidity effectively. An undersized one runs constantly and still cannot keep up on the coldest nights. The right size is calculated based on the home’s square footage, insulation, window area, ceiling height, and duct layout — not just the size of the old unit. If your house has rooms that never feel right, or if the system runs constantly in cold weather, sizing is worth checking. BPM performs Manual J load calculations when the job warrants it, which is the proper engineering method for getting this right.
A standard furnace replacement is typically completed in one day — the old unit comes out, the new one goes in, the system is tested, and the technician walks you through the new equipment before leaving. Yes, someone needs to be home to provide access and for the final walkthrough. BPM coordinates any required permits and inspections, so you do not have to manage that separately. For situations where there is a gap between the old system coming out and the new one being ready, BPM provides loaner space heaters so the house is not left without heat.
Yes. BPM offers financing through Nymeo Federal Credit Union, and multiple payment methods can be combined if that helps. If you want to price out a new system before committing to anything, BPM’s website has an instant online quote tool for HVAC equipment — you can get a real number without a sales call first.
