What Happens When You Call

However we end up at your door, the experience runs the same way. Every BPM visit means licensed HVAC and plumbing professionals, clear communication, honest pricing, and technicians who respect your home and your time. Here’s what to expect, start to finish.

We answer when you call.

Tell us what's going on, and we'll get you on the schedule at a time that works for your day.

We show up on time and prepared.

You'll get a confirmation and an "on the way" notification before your technician arrives — so you're never left guessing or waiting around.

We explain the work.

Your technician walks you through what they're going to do and what it costs before any work begins — in plain language, with no pressure.

We get the job done right.

We complete the job, clean up after ourselves, and make sure everything's running right before we leave.

Finding HVAC Service in Thurmont That Actually Shows Up

You have probably been here before. You find a company, they sound like they cover the area, and then you call and the conversation goes sideways — “we might be able to get out there,” or someone shows up and mentions a trip charge that was never discussed. Thurmont sits far enough north of Frederick that a lot of companies treat it as edge territory. Not a hard no, but not a priority either.

So now you are doing this search the careful way — before anything breaks. You want to find one company you can actually rely on, not a list of names to sort through when the heat goes out in January or the AC quits on a 95-degree afternoon. The question you are really asking is not “who services HVAC” — it is “who will actually come to my address without making me feel like I am asking for a favor.”

We recently had our HVAC serviced by BPM Heating and Cooling after the blower went out right at the start of a heat wave. As newcomers to Boonsboro from Montgomery County, we weren’t sure where to turn without the usual big-name options nearby.

BPM is a truly family-owned business that still believes in honesty, integrity, and doing the job right not just making a quick buck. Shawn and Mike were prompt, professional, and easy to work with. They prioritized our needs, fixed the problem quickly, and communicated every step of the way.

I don’t usually rely on reviews, but BPM has absolutely earned this one. Add me to the list of happy customers. We’re glad we signed the service contract and even happier to know we’ve found our go-to team for HVAC in Washington County and beyond. Thank you, BPM!

BPM is the only HVAC and plumbing company in the area that I trust. I’ve been through a few others who are a complete racket that over charge and under deliver on their services. BPM is always on time, sends amazing people who care about their work, and always charges reasonable rates. We love working with them and and will continue to use them for years to come!

Certifications & Licensing

Why dealer status and licenses matter

Manufacturer dealer status and state licenses aren't decorations — they affect which warranty terms you get on new equipment, who's allowed to pull your permits, and whose installation work the manufacturer will stand behind.

Trane

Authorized Dealer

LG

Pro Platinum Dealer

Samsung

Maryland HVAC Master License #75803  ·  Master Plumber / Gas Fitter #86156

Manufacturer dealer certifications require demonstrated installation quality, verified customer satisfaction ratings, and completed factory training. Premier and Authorized status also unlocks enhanced warranty options on new equipment — terms that aren't available through uncertified installers. The LG Pro Platinum designation is LG's highest contractor tier, covering cold-climate and inverter-driven systems specifically.

How BPM Handles HVAC Service in Thurmont

Thurmont is inside BPM’s service area — not as an edge case, not as a stretch. BPM operates out of Frederick, and Thurmont is a straight run up Route 15. When you call, you are not calling a company that will have to check a map before deciding whether to take your job.

When you reach out, a live person answers — no phone tree, no recording. They take your information, assess what you need, and get you on the schedule. Same-day availability is real for urgent situations; next-morning scheduling is common for non-emergency work. You will receive a text with your technician’s ETA before they arrive.

Once the technician is at your home, the approach is consistent: they confirm the issue with you, explain what they are checking and why before they start, and walk you through what they find. If something needs to be replaced, you hear the honest assessment first — what failed, what the system looks like around it, and whether a repair makes sense or whether you are looking at a decision point. Nothing is replaced without your approval.

BPM Heating, Cooling & Plumbing handles heating and cooling under the same roof — furnaces, heat pumps, boilers, central AC, mini-splits, older oil systems. If you have been running aging equipment and wondering how much life is left in it, that is a conversation BPM will have honestly. When repair is the right call, that is what gets recommended. When it is not, you will know why.

For homeowners who want to stop starting over with a new company every time, the Comfort Club maintenance plan covers spring and fall tune-ups plus an annual plumber visit, with priority scheduling and 20% off repairs. It is the practical way to have a company that already knows your system when something goes wrong.

Two other companies came out, wanted to sell me the moon, knew something was not right! A friend said to call BPM, you came out simply said not a problem will get it done! Honesty and integrity goes a long way! A+ company!

We needed our heating system looked at because it wasn’t heating up the house. Thankfully I called BPM and a live person answered the phone right away. Thankfully I did not have to listen to endless recordings. Instead, I spoke with Samantha which was very polite and answered all my questions. She was able to fit us in for the very next day. The service technicians were right on time. Shawn and an assistant (ooops can’t remember their name) serviced our heater and answered all my questions and explained in detail each issue. In addition, he offered the maintenance plan that we signed up for and saved 20% off our repairs. Our heater is working now!! Thank you for great service!!!

I was surprised to get same day service and it was fixed the same day. It was also nice that they repaired my unit since it is so old and I don’t want to replace it at this time. Other companies tell me don’t fix it but get a new one, it was great service and Mike the technician was very informative. I was very happy and signed up with the company for maintenance.

HVAC Service in Thurmont from BPM’s Frederick Base

BPM’s shop is at 300 E 4th St in Frederick — about 15 miles south of Thurmont on Route 15. That is a direct corridor with no detours, which means a crew dispatched from Frederick reaches Thurmont without the delay that comes with companies based farther out.

Thurmont’s housing stock is a mix of older single-family homes and more recent construction, and the HVAC needs reflect that range. Older homes in and around town often run aging gas furnaces or oil heating systems — equipment other companies sometimes push to replace when repair is still the practical call. Homes built in the last two decades are more likely to have heat pumps, which in this part of Frederick County face real stress: the elevation and colder winters along the Catoctin Mountain corridor mean a heat pump that handles Gaithersburg fine may struggle here when temperatures drop hard. BPM services both scenarios and carries the manufacturer certifications — including LG Pro Platinum and Lennox Premier Dealer status — to work on the high-efficiency cold-climate systems that hold up better in this climate.

If you are on a well and septic, or in an older home with a boiler and radiators, those are systems BPM has worked on in this area. The combination of HVAC and full plumbing services in Thurmont under one license means one call covers the range of what a Thurmont home typically needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you actually service Thurmont, or is that just a broad coverage claim?

Thurmont is a real service location for BPM — not a stretch of the coverage map. BPM operates out of Frederick, and Thurmont is a direct run up Route 15. When you call, the answer is yes, not “let me check.”

Is there a trip charge or extra fee because I'm in Thurmont?

BPM has not published a separate trip charge for Thurmont. The best way to confirm current pricing for your specific job is to call (240) 200-0887 — a live person will answer and walk you through what to expect before anything is scheduled.

What's your availability — can you get out the same day, or am I looking at a week out?

Same-day service is available for urgent situations during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM). Next-morning scheduling is common for non-emergency calls. BPM does not offer 24/7 emergency service, so if something goes wrong outside business hours, the earliest response would be the following business day.

Can you handle both my heating and cooling, or do I need to call different companies?

BPM covers heating, cooling, and plumbing under one roof and one set of licenses. One call handles furnaces, heat pumps, central AC, boilers, mini-splits, and plumbing — no need to manage separate contractors for different systems in your home.

My house has older equipment — oil heat, an aging furnace, an older heat pump. Do you work on that?

Yes. BPM works on a wide range of equipment ages and types, including oil systems, older furnaces, and heat pumps. The approach is to assess honestly — if a repair extends the life of a system at a reasonable cost, that is what gets recommended. Replacement is the call when it genuinely makes sense, not as a default.

How do I know this won't be a different technician every time I call?

BPM is a local Frederick company, not a franchise or rotating crew service. The Comfort Club maintenance plan is the most direct way to build continuity — BPM tracks your equipment history across visits, so the technician arriving for a repair or tune-up already has context on your system. Many Thurmont-area customers who sign up after a first service call do so specifically because they want that ongoing relationship.

What happens when I call for the first time — how does scheduling work?

A live person answers — no phone tree, no automated menu. You describe what you need, they assess urgency, and you get on the schedule. You will receive a text confirmation with your technician’s ETA before they arrive. For a first-time call that is not an emergency, next-day availability is common.
