BPM Heating, Cooling & Plumbing holds Maryland HVAC Master license #75803 and serves Urbana as part of its regular service area — same-day scheduling is available for urgent heating and cooling calls. The team carries over 100 years of combined experience across more than 12 technicians, so the person who shows up knows the equipment. BPM is a Lennox Premier Dealer and Trane Authorized Dealer, which means certified installation and access to enhanced warranty coverage on new equipment. A live person answers the phone — no recordings, no phone trees.

However we end up at your door, the experience runs the same way. Every BPM visit means licensed HVAC and plumbing professionals, clear communication, honest pricing, and technicians who respect your home and your time. Here’s what to expect, start to finish.
Tell us what's going on, and we'll get you on the schedule at a time that works for your day.
You'll get a confirmation and an "on the way" notification before your technician arrives — so you're never left guessing or waiting around.
Your technician walks you through what they're going to do and what it costs before any work begins — in plain language, with no pressure.
We complete the job, clean up after ourselves, and make sure everything's running right before we leave.
You know how this goes. You search, you find a company, you call — and somewhere in the conversation you get a vague answer about service areas, or you book an appointment and they push it three days out, or you never hear back at all. Urbana sits in that in-between zone where some contractors from Frederick stop short and some from Gaithersburg don’t bother driving north. You’ve already been through that once.
And meanwhile, the house isn’t comfortable. Maybe the system is running but nothing’s changing — the upstairs stays warm no matter what the thermostat says. Maybe it quit entirely and the house is already at 85 degrees by mid-morning. Maybe it’s making a noise it never made before and you’re not sure if that’s a $200 fix or a $2,000 one. You’ve got kids in the house, or a family member who can’t handle the heat, and you don’t have time to gamble on another company that might not show.
What you’re actually looking for isn’t complicated: someone who will come, who will tell you the truth about what’s wrong, and who won’t try to sell you a new system when a repair is the honest answer. That’s the part that’s hard to find.
My outside unit was not working and my ac was down. I called BPM and they were able to schedule me the same day. Great service. Thanks Mike

We needed our heating system looked at because it wasn’t heating up the house. Thankfully I called BPM and a live person answered the phone right away. Thankfully I did not have to listen to endless recordings. Instead, I spoke with Samantha which was very polite and answered all my questions. She was able to fit us in for the very next day. The service technicians were right on time. Shawn and an assistant (ooops can’t remember their name) serviced our heater and answered all my questions and explained in detail each issue. In addition, he offered the maintenance plan that we signed up for and saved 20% off our repairs. Our heater is working now!! Thank you for great service!!!

Certifications & Licensing
Manufacturer dealer status and state licenses aren't decorations — they affect which warranty terms you get on new equipment, who's allowed to pull your permits, and whose installation work the manufacturer will stand behind.

Manufacturer dealer certifications require demonstrated installation quality, verified customer satisfaction ratings, and completed factory training. Premier and Authorized status also unlocks enhanced warranty options on new equipment — terms that aren't available through uncertified installers. The LG Pro Platinum designation is LG's highest contractor tier, covering cold-climate and inverter-driven systems specifically.
BPM’s shop is on East 4th Street in Frederick — Urbana is a straight shot down Route 80, close enough that same-day response is genuinely available, not a marketing line. When you call, a real person picks up and schedules you. You get a text when the technician is on the way.
When the technician arrives, they start by confirming what you’ve been experiencing — not just what the thermostat reads, but what you’ve actually noticed. Then they check the full system, not just the part that triggered the call. They explain what they’re finding as they go, in plain terms, so by the time they give you a recommendation you understand exactly what’s in front of you.
BPM’s approach to repair versus replacement is straightforward: if the system can be fixed and the repair makes sense for its age and condition, that’s what gets recommended. BPM has repaired older units that other companies said couldn’t be saved — and has also been honest when a system is genuinely near the end. The goal is a clear decision, not a bigger invoice. When a less expensive fix genuinely solves the problem, that’s what gets proposed.
If a repair requires a part that needs to be ordered, or if a full replacement is the right call and there’s a gap before installation, BPM provides loaner cooling or heating equipment so the house stays livable in the meantime. The work gets done, the area gets cleaned up, and before the technician leaves you get a walkthrough of what was done and what to watch for going forward.

I was surprised to get same day service and it was fixed the same day. It was also nice that they repaired my unit since it is so old and I don’t want to replace it at this time. Other companies tell me don’t fix it but get a new one, it was great service and Mike the technician was very informative. I was very happy and signed up with the company for maintenance.

Hello Everyone!!
We have had an issue with Blower motor in our HVAC. We contacted 9 HVAC companies and they are all advised to replace the entire system but Mr.Rich from BPM is very kind to ask about the actual problem and provided 3 different options one of them is to replace the actual issue instead of replacing the full system.
Also, Mr.Rich informed us that, the current system is in good condition and will work for another couple of years based on his expertise in this field.
The technician Mr.Mychall is very professional and he fixed the actual problem in less than an hour.
This company helped to save thousands of dollars in HVAC expenses for us.
I would happily and strongly recommend BPM HVAC service to everyone who is need of the HVAC and their Plumbing repairs as well.

BPM operates out of 300 E 4th St in Frederick — Urbana is roughly 10 miles southeast, a direct run down Route 80 through the Route 355 corridor. That’s close enough that same-day response isn’t a stretch, and close enough that a technician who needs to return with a part the next morning can do so without rescheduling you a week out.
Urbana’s housing stock is almost entirely newer construction — master-planned subdivisions built out through the 2000s and 2010s, a mix of townhomes and single-family houses with modern forced-air systems and heat pumps. These homes are well-insulated but they run their systems hard, and the equipment in a 15-year-old Urbana townhome is now at the age where capacitors fail, refrigerant lines develop slow leaks, and blower motors start to show wear. The Maryland summers — humid, with stretches of genuine heat — put real load on these systems, and a unit that limped through last summer may not make it through this one without attention.
Because most Urbana homes were built under modern code with standard ductwork and equipment configurations, repairs and replacements here are typically straightforward — no historic oddities, no custom duct layouts to work around. What matters is a company that actually shows up on time and gives you a straight answer about what the system needs.

Urbana is within BPM’s regular service area. The office is in Frederick, about 10 miles up Route 80, and Urbana is a standard stop — not an exception that requires a special request or a longer wait.
Call BPM at (240) 200-0887 for current diagnostic pricing — rates can vary by job type. In general, BPM provides the price before any work starts, so there are no surprises when the technician wraps up. Financing is also available through Nymeo Federal Credit Union if the repair or replacement runs larger than expected.
That depends on what failed, what it costs to fix, and what the rest of the system looks like — there’s no universal answer. BPM evaluates the actual condition of the equipment before making a recommendation, and has repaired older systems that other companies said to replace. If the repair makes sense relative to the system’s remaining life, that’s what gets recommended. If replacement is the honest call, BPM explains why and gives you options at different price points.
Same-day service is available during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM). For urgent situations, BPM has dispatched technicians within 30–60 minutes of the call. If you call first thing in the morning, a same-day appointment is typically possible. BPM does not offer 24/7 emergency service, so for after-hours emergencies you’d be scheduled for first thing the following business day.
No. BPM provides loaner cooling equipment — portable AC units — when there’s a gap between a diagnosis and the completed repair or installation. The house stays livable while the work gets sorted out.
Not automatically — the cooling and heating components are separate, so a failed capacitor or refrigerant issue on the AC side doesn’t directly damage the furnace. That said, when a technician is already in the system diagnosing one problem, BPM checks the full system and will flag anything else that’s developing. It’s worth knowing the condition of both before heating season starts.
